Particular "Kimmerian" landscape, numerous monuments of nature and history, fragrant fruit and wines attract lovers of all kinds of touring.
A great number of interesting people from different countries arrive here to do archaelogical excavations, to paint, to write poems and to make films.
The most interesting sight is Genoese Fortress. In Sudak entire complexes of fortifications, dwelling houses and cult structures have been preserved which are characterized by their refined and delicate decorative elements and their harmony of all parts.
The Genoese made Sudak famous for fruit and wines all over the world. It is a famous wine district now. The academician P.Pallas built the house with vineyard and wine-cellar here. He described about 40 kinds of local grapes and looked for secrets of producing champagne. In 1804 he opened and was at head of the wine trade school in Sudak.
Academician Kh.Steven the founder of Nikitsky Botanical Garden lived and worked here. The artist I.Aivazovsky often visited Sudak. A.Benua, A.Fessler, M.Voloshin described its landscapes. Composers A.Hasunov and A.Spendiarov inspired Sudak. A.Akhmatova, K.Paustovsky and M.Bulgakov were there many times.
Novy Svet is a "small country" with particular landscape, climate, vegetation and history. It is a legendary and well-known center of naturalism.
In 1878 the Champagne winery "Novy Svet" the light building built by Prince Golitsin.
The Falcon mountain (477 m above sea level) reminding the bird with folded wings attracts mountaineers from all over the world.
